Money for the Maoists



CPN-Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara received Rs 70 million to manage the cantonments of the seven divisions of the Peoples Liberation Army as part of the weapons management deal from the Nepal Government today. 21 camps of the PLA are to be set up in seven different districts. Joint secretary of the Ministry of Home Sushil Jung Rana has been appointed coordinator for the Cantonment Management Central Office which is to be housed in the Peace Secretariat in Singha Darbar. The Chief District Officer of each of the seven districts where the 21 camps of the PLA are to be stationed will coordinate the distribution of the amount. Speaking to our correspondent Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula said, The money is for immediate needs. We may provide more in the future if it is needed. The Maoists will have to submit the bill of expenses to the Ministry of Finance.
