The new government under Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has dismissed all political appointments made by the royal government since October 2002 and recalled Nepali ambassadors from 12 countries.

The ambassadors of India (Karna Dhwoj Adhikari), United Kingdom (Prabal Shumsher Rana), United States (Kedar Bhakta Shrestha), Japan (Rameshananda Baidya), Russia (Hiranya Lal Shrestha), France (General Prajwalla Shumsher Rana), China (Narendra Raj Pandey), Pakistan (Pushkar Man Singh Rajbhandari) have been called back. Also on the list are Nepali envoys from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Thailand.

Earlier the meeting of reinstated House of Representatives called upon the new government to dismiss all the ambassadors appointed by the royal government and this decision came after a 2-hour cabinet meeting held at the residence of the prime minister.

Similarly the new government has decided to scrap all the political appointments to various corporations and state-owned institutions made by three governments after the October 2002 royal takeover.
