Doha to Mykonos
In addition to Athens and Thessaloniki, Qatar Airways has launched a four-times-weekly service to Mykonos, Greece, via the award-winning Hamad International Airport in Doha from 30 September.
At the briefing highlighting the award-winning airline’s robust expansion plans, Qatar Airways Kathmandu Country Manager Jay Prakash Nair said, “We are looking forward to further enhancing this relationship, connecting Mykonos to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network and helping to open up and develop these attractive destinations for business and leisure travelers from around the world.”
Honorary Consul Bikram Pandey who along with Nair announced the newly launch flight service said, “We appreciate Qatar Airways’ strong support for Greece. An airline of this stature will further boost Mykonos’s reputation as a leading tourist destination. Greece economy will certainly go up by 2020 and once again the country will flourish.”
Four weekly seasonal flights to Mykonos International Airport will be operated by an Airbus A320, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class. With the launch of Mykonos, Qatar Airways increased its flights to 58 times a week from Doha’s five-star Hamad International Airport to Greece.
Mykonos is a world–renowned cosmopolitan island and a paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. The small island is known for its picturesque views and beautiful sandy beaches. Touristic activities to do in Mykonos include walking along the narrow streets of Chora, watching the sunset from Little Venice, staying in luxurious hotels and swimming in the clear sea of the Aegean. Mykonos holidays are often combined with holidays to Santorini and other Cycladic islands.
Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport to more than 150 destinations worldwide. Earlier this year, Qatar Airways revealed a host of forthcoming global destinations for 2018-19, in line with its expedited expansion plans, including Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Bodrum and Antalya, Turkey and Málaga, Spain.
