King Gyanendra

Saubhagya Shah's "King Gyanendra's burden of living" (#51) is fraught with paeans to the present monarch. Although he tried to be confident and persuasive Shah is wanting in sincerity, honesty, and judgement. At times he appears ludicrous, like when he compares King Birendra and King Gyanendra to Ram and Bharat. He also tries to exonerate Paras Shah from all his sins by pointing out that the "hijackers" and "headhunters" of yesteryears have been accepted as political leaders. These examples cannot be used as reasons for justifying Paras's actions and vindicating him. I did not expect such a ridiculous and preposterous article in Nepali Times.
