Former Vice Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Baburam Bhattarai is in the final stage of forming his new political party.

Bhattarai has intensified meetings with cadres and leaders close to him. According to a well-placed source, the majority of the 29 Central Committee members in the UCPN (Maoist) who had allied themselves with him will join the party, which will be formally established within a month.

Bhattarai has also met with popular figures like Rameshwar Khanal, Anil Shah, Bijaya Kumar and Rabindra Mishra, who are said to have promised to help his party without playing an active role within it.

At present Bhattarai is trying to decide the positions that will be given to different members in the party. Meanwhile, Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has offered a ministerial position to Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in order to woo him. But according to a source, Rayamajhi plans to take up the position and leave Dahal's party at the same time.

Prominent members who will be included in the party are Debendra Paudel, Ganga Shrestha, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Nabaraj Subedi, Ram Chandra Jha, Khagaraj Bhatta, Devi Khadka, Krishna Sharma, Mahendra Paswan, Kumar Paudel and Khimlal Devkota.

Likewise, Prabhu Sah, Ramarijhan Yadav and Hisila Yami will also join the party of the former prime minister, who announced his decision to split from U-CPN Maoist over two weeks ago.
