Maoist leaders, who were deployed in the districts have gathered in the capital as the extended one-year term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) expires this week. Not only the chiefs of the State Committees but also the co-incharges, secretaries, coordinators of the sister organisations have come to the capital. Secretary of the Maoist’s Magarat State Committee and central member Purna Bahadur Gharti said the leaders were not assembled in the capital under the party's official directions.
A party source said that the leaders have assembled in the capital because of the political uncertainty after 28 May. The source said that the leaders were gathered in the capital also to attend the separate meetings of their own groups after the intra-party rift between the party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior vice chairman Mohan Baidhya escalated lately. However, the leaders claimed that they were not assembled in the capital for attending the clandestine meetings of the groups concerned.
Maoist central member Dinesh Panthi said the leaders may have left their workstation due to lack of concrete programmes of the party after May 7.
