The seventh round of PM election also failed to announce a winner. Although the participation of the lawmakers was higher than the last round, neither of the candidates was able to obtain a simple majority of 301 votes to form a new government.
UCPN (Maoist) candidate Pushpa Kamal Dahal obtained 252 votes in his favour, 12 votes up from the 240 he received in the sixth round. 521 lawmakers participated in the election. While 110 lawmakers voted against him, 153 chose to stay neutral.
A total of 515 lawmakers participated during the voting process for NC candidate Ram Chandra Poudel. He received 119 votes in his favour. 245 members voted against him and 151 opted for ‘no-vote’.
A meeting of the Madhesi Alliance in the morning had decided to vote in favour of the Maoists if their participation guaranteed them a win. But the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) did not participate in today’s voting and MJF(D) was absent. Following their absence, the alliance chose to take a neutral stance in the election.
The eighth round is slated for 26 September.

News Flash for Pushpa k Dahal –
The only way you will become a prime minister is by polishing the boots of Indian Sahebs in New Delhi – if the Indians loathe you and treat you like the
worm – that you are – then even after 100 attempts you will fail to become the
PM again…. do u understand that – u are going against India and America -
so do the right thing – get rid of the PLA – become a regular guy – one question for Mr Dahal – why is your party still considered a terrorist party by the Americans – your power is weaking day by day and soon you become a nobody,
you become nothing – zilch -nada – zero -
And long live THE REPUBLIC !! What a shame . Dont blame any body but PKD “yourslf”.India bashing will not help nor the Chinese Yen . Soon PKD will be enemy number one of the Nepalese people
The outcome of the vote was not a surprise, nobody had expected definite outcome also.
But the lessons not learnt. Both these idiots, Dahal and Poudel should understand only way out is to withdraw which might bring new names and a compromise candidate be found. How many times it has to be made clear that these two are idiots and don’t have any value except for their henchmen. So, if anyone has to be blamed for this mess, they are these two guys.
The whole process has been a big setback for Mr. Awesome. He had declared that he would form a national coalition government as soon as Makune resigned. It never happened and shamefully he could not even garner majority support also. The awesome has been very much humilitated. However he does not understand it. He still refuses to understand that his dictatorial days have gone.
Unfortunately instead of learning, he has trying to unlearn. He is going back to his authoritarian theories of dictatorship and revolution. However, we have seen what it means: more money to comrages and “bhog bilas”. They even beg foreigners for dollars to buy parliamentarians at home and dare to complain that India is interfering. Is there any limit to shame and vulgarities?
It is interesting but not so surprising that there is only one comment on this blog… we, me included, are tired and frustrated with the behaviors of our leaders… they have proven that they are incapable of doing anything, let alone running a country… it’s time to look for a new people… totally new people who are not part of this rotten egg basket… may Lord Pashupati Nath help us…
