The youth wing of the Nepali Congress, Nepal Tarun Dal, has accused the Maoists of using UNMIN monitored cantonments to launch attacks on their opponents, and requested UNMIN to shut down the camps immediately.
On Tuesday, Youth Communist League members attacked Irrigation Minister Bal Krishna Khand and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at a Tarun Dal event in Chitwan.
The NC youth wing has claimed that Maoists deployed fighters from UNMIN camps to launch the attack. In a press release issued yesterday, it said: "It is necessary to remove so-called Maoist combatants from cantonments and close them down."
